How do we measure success? To what extend that a person is considered successful? How can be an individual be more successful than others?
We usually view success as someone better than another. Is success measured by comparison? Whether who is richer, who has higher marks and better grades or who gets better results. Is that how we measure the level of success? We often say that "he is a successful man/woman". When we say that, are we actually comparing him/her with another individual? Mostly are.
How do we actually measure success? We can't take out the calculator and start pressing because success can't be measured mathematically. We can only evaluate that person by his/her improvement in doing something and the results of his/her efforts.
I've learnt something when mum share with me what the father said to the congregation last Sunday (I was attending another church that day). We often view ourselves as successful when we make someone else worse than us. For instance, we view that we are successful in a company, getting a pay rise while others don't by being a hypocrite. "a person who make someone else weaker to see him/herself as successful, is a person who is not. We do not take others' failures as our victory but by learning from our own failures and excel in life making failures a success."
Success can't be compared with others. It should be compared with our own ability and status. A person who is successful in all aspects is a person who succeeded from their mistakes and failures.
